About
Our Mission
Safe Center is committed to breaking the cycle of violence for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and child abuse by creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families.
Our Vision
Prevent, Protect, and Pave the Pathway to Healing.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the right of all people to live without fear, threat, and oppression. Emotional, physical, and sexual abuse are tools used to oppress and control persons through power and control. Physical and sexual abuse are criminal acts. Perpetrators of these crimes should be held accountable for their aggression.
We believe we must confront violence against all individuals in all ways possible. This includes direct services, raising public awareness, and legislative action to strengthen laws and ensure adequate funding for our programs. These services must be community based and culturally sensitive.
We believe in self-determination of our clients. Our goal is to empower and support survivors so they can break the cycle of violence in their lives and live without fear and abuse.
We believe services must be available to all who seek them regardless of age, race, handicap, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin or immigration status.
We believe safety for the victims/survivors and their dependents is the primary focus of intervention and services.
We believe intervention and services shall be based upon the safety and well-being of individuals and communities. Services to victims are provided in a non-judgmental, non-coercive, trauma-informed environment.
We believe participation in victim/services is voluntary and based on self-determined needs, preferences and values.
